Toronto, Ontario – February 19, 2026 – The Canada Arab Congress on Middle East and North Africa Relations (CACMR) is pleased to announce the participation of its President, Mr. Abdullatif Al-Shaikh, at the launch of the 10th Ontario Economic Report, hosted by the The Empire Club of Canada in partnership with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC).
Held under the theme “Ontario at a Crossroads: Competitiveness, Confidence & Growth in a New Global Reality,” the event convened senior government officials, business executives, and policy leaders to address the evolving economic landscape, including global trade pressures, investment challenges, and opportunities for long-term growth.
During the event, Mr. Al-Shaikh had the honour of meeting with the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Canada’s Minister of Industry, and engaging in discussions on strengthening Canada’s global economic partnerships and fostering investment opportunities between Canada and the Middle East and North Africa region.
Mr. Al-Shaikh also met with Mr. Daniel Tisch, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. Louie Di Palma, Vice-President, SME Programs at the OCC. Their discussions focused on enhancing collaboration to support small and medium-sized enterprises, expanding international market access, and identifying opportunities to connect Ontario businesses with emerging markets.
“The Ontario Economic Report highlights the importance of resilience, competitiveness, and global engagement,” said Mr. Abdullatif Al-Shaikh. “It was a privilege to participate in this important forum and to exchange views with Minister Joly and Ontario Chamber leadership on how we can work together to strengthen economic ties, support SMEs, and create new pathways for investment and growth.”

وقد عُقد الحدث تحت شعار "أونتاريو على مفترق طرق: التنافسية والثقة والنمو في ظل واقع عالمي جديد"، حيث جمع كبار المسؤولين الحكوميين، ورجال الأعمال، وقادة السياسات لمناقشة المشهد الاقتصادي المتغير، بما في ذلك ضغوط التجارة العالمية، وتحديات الاستثمار، وفرص النمو طويل الأجل.
... خلال الفعالية، تشرف السيد آل الشيخ بلقاء معالي ميلاني جولي، وزيرة الصناعة الكندية، ومناقشة سبل تعزيز الشراكات الاقتصادية العالمية لكندا، وتشجيع فرص الاستثمار بين كندا ومنطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا.
كما التقى السيد آل الشيخ بالسيد دانيال تيش، الرئيس والمدير التنفيذي لغرفة تجارة أونتاريو، والسيد لوي دي بالما، نائب رئيس برامج الشركات الصغيرة والمتوسطة في الغرفة. وتركزت مناقشاتهم على تعزيز التعاون لدعم الشركات الصغيرة والمتوسطة، وتوسيع نطاق الوصول إلى الأسواق الدولية، وتحديد فرص ربط شركات أونتاريو بالأسواق الناشئة.
