Mr. Abdullatif Al-Shaikh, President of the Canada Arab Congress on Middle East and North Africa Relations (CACMR), attended a distinguished Iftar dinner hosted by His Excellency Can Dizdar, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Canada, at the Ambassador’s Official Residence in Rockcliffe Park, Ottawa.
The gathering brought together members of the diplomatic corps, government officials, community leaders, and distinguished guests to mark the spirit of Ramadan, a time that reflects values of generosity, unity, and reflection. Events such as this provide meaningful opportunities to strengthen diplomatic and cultural ties while fostering dialogue and mutual understanding.
During the evening, Mr. Al-Shaikh engaged in constructive discussions with several distinguished guests, including The Honourable Shafqat Ali, President of the Treasury Board of Canada and Senator Al-Zaibak. These conversations highlighted the importance of continued collaboration and dialogue between Canada and partners across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, including Türkiye’s longstanding engagement with regional partners.
Mr. Al-Shaikh expressed his appreciation to Ambassador Dizdar for the gracious invitation and warm hospitality, noting that such gatherings play an important role in strengthening bridges between diplomatic communities and encouraging cooperation between Canada and countries across the MENA region.

حضر السيد عبد اللطيف الشيخ، رئيس الكونجرس الكندي العربي لعلاقات الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا، مأدبة إفطار مميزة استضافها سعادة السيد جان ديزدار، سفير جمهورية تركيا لدى كندا، في مقر إقامته الرسمي في روكليف بارك، أوتاوا.
جمع هذا اللقاء أعضاء السلك الدبلوماسي، ومسؤولين حكوميين، وقادة مجتمعيين، وضيوفاً مميزين، احتفاءً بروح شهر رمضان المبارك، الذي يجسد قيم الكرم والوحدة والتأمل. وتُتيح مثل هذه المناسبات فرصاً قيّمة لتعزيز العلاقات الدبلوماسية والثقافية، وتشجيع الحوار والتفاهم المتبادل.
وخلال الأمسية، أجرى السيد الشيخ نقاشات مثمرة مع عدد من الضيوف المميزين، من بينهم معالي السيد شفقت علي، رئيس مجلس الخزانة الكندي، والسيناتور آل زئبق. أكدت هذه المحادثات على أهمية استمرار التعاون والحوار بين كندا وشركائها في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا، بما في ذلك شراكة تركيا الراسخة مع الشركاء الإقليميين.
وأعرب السيد الشيخ عن تقديره للسفير ديزدار على دعوته الكريمة وكرم ضيافته، مشيراً إلى أن مثل هذه اللقاءات تضطلع بدور هام في تعزيز جسور التواصل بين الأوساط الدبلوماسية وتشجيع التعاون بين كندا ودول منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا.
ويؤكد الكونجرس الكندي العربي لعلاقات الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا التزامه بتعزيز الحوار والتعاون والشراكات بين كندا ودول المنطقة من خلال العمل الدبلوماسي والحوار السياسي والتعاون الاقتصادي.
