Structure of the Congress
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors functions as the Congress’ strategic compass: chaired by the President and supported by directors responsible for youth engagement, human-resources & programs, operations, communications, government-relations & trade, and finance, the board collectively sets mission-aligned priorities, safeguards fiduciary integrity, and mobilizes the networks and professional expertise of its members to build bridges between Canada and the MENA region through advocacy, cultural exchange and community outreach.
Council of Advisors
The Council of Advisors is a select, invitation-only body of high-impact donors, seasoned diplomats, business innovators, and academic thought-leaders who convene twice annually to provide calibrated, forward-looking guidance to the Canada Arab Congress. While the elected Board retains fiduciary and governance authority, the Council operates as an external brain-trust: reviewing strategic briefs, stress-testing new program concepts, and issuing succinct, written recommendations that inform board deliberations. Members enjoy privileged access to executive-level briefings, priority seating at flagship events, and bespoke networking opportunities, channeling both their philanthropic capacity and influence toward amplifying the Congress’s bridge-building mission without assuming day-to-day oversight duties.
Members
A General Membership is the Congress’s standard entry point for supporters who want full voting rights and year-round engagement: for $60 per year, members receive invitations to exclusive in-person and virtual events, a subscription to the Congress newsletter, and the right to cast a ballot at the annual general assembly—ensuring their voice helps steer the organisation’s priorities. Prospective members who are 25 or under—or currently enrolled in post-secondary education—can opt for the lower-cost Student (Youth) category at $30 per year, which confers the same core privileges plus youth-focused training, leadership opportunities and volunteer-hour certificates.
