Ottawa, Canada – February 28, 2026
Members of the Board of the Canada Arab Congress on Middle East and North Africa Relations (CACMR), led by its President and Chair Mr. Abdullatif Al-Shaikh, attended an Iftar dinner hosted by Jose Victor V. Chan-Gonzaga, Ambassador of the Philippines to Canada, in observance of the holy month of Ramadan.
The gathering, held at the Embassy’s Mindanao Hall in Ottawa, brought together members of the diplomatic corps, community leaders, and invited guests to mark the spirit of Ramadan—a time that reflects values of reflection, generosity, and unity across cultures and faiths.
The evening provided an opportunity for CACMR representatives to engage with members of the diplomatic community and celebrate the values of dialogue, interfaith understanding, and cooperation that Ramadan represents.
The CACMR delegation expressed its appreciation to Ambassador Chan-Gonzaga for the gracious invitation and warm hospitality, noting the importance of such gatherings in strengthening cultural understanding and fostering meaningful connections among diverse communities in Canada.

حضر أعضاء مجلس إدارة الكونجرس الكندي العربي لعلاقات الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا، برئاسة رئيسه السيد عبد اللطيف الشيخ، مأدبة إفطار استضافها السيد خوسيه فيكتور ف. تشان-غونزاغا، سفير الفلبين لدى كندا، بمناسبة حلول شهر رمضان المبارك.
جمع هذا اللقاء، الذي أقيم في قاعة مينداناو بالسفارة في أوتاوا، أعضاء السلك الدبلوماسي وقادة المجتمع وضيوفًا مدعوين، احتفاءً بروحانية شهر رمضان، الذي يجسد قيم التأمل والكرم والوحدة بين مختلف الثقافات والأديان.
أتاحت هذه الأمسية فرصة لممثلي الكونجرس للتواصل مع أعضاء السلك الدبلوماسي والاحتفاء بقيم الحوار والتفاهم بين الأديان والتعاون التي يمثلها شهر رمضان.
أعرب وفد الكونجرس الكندي العربي لعلاقات الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا عن تقديره للسفير تشان-غونزاغا على دعوته الكريمة وكرم ضيافتها، مشيرًا إلى أهمية مثل هذه اللقاءات في تعزيز التفاهم الثقافي وتوطيد العلاقات بين مختلف المجتمعات في كندا.
