Canada Arab Congress on MENA Relations (CACMR) Meets with His Excellency Can Dizdar, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Canada

Ottawa, Canada — The Canada Arab Congress on Middle East and North Africa Relations (CACMR) recently held a constructive and forward-looking meeting with His Excellency Can Dizdar, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Canada, at the Turkish Embassy in Ottawa.

The meeting brought together members of the CACMR leadership team and His Excellency Ambassador Dizdar to discuss avenues for strengthening engagement and cooperation between Canada, Türkiye, and the broader Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Discussions focused on fostering dialogue across diplomatic, economic, cultural, and people-to-people dimensions, with an emphasis on building sustainable partnerships that advance shared interests.

Both sides exchanged views on regional developments, opportunities for enhanced collaboration, and the role of multilateral platforms in promoting stability, innovation, and inclusive growth across the MENA region. The conversation also highlighted the importance of deepening ties between Canadian and Turkish institutions, businesses, and civil society organizations.

CACMR expressed its appreciation to His Excellency Ambassador Dizdar for the warm reception and for his continued commitment to strengthening Canada–Türkiye relations. The meeting reaffirmed CACMR’s mandate to serve as a bridge between Canada and the MENA region by convening stakeholders, supporting dialogue, and advancing initiatives that contribute to mutual understanding and cooperation.

جمع الاجتماع أعضاء فريق قيادة الكونجرس وسعادة السفير ديزدار لمناقشة سبل تعزيز التعاون والتواصل بين كندا وتركيا و الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا. وتركزت المناقشات على تعزيز الحوار في المجالات الدبلوماسية والاقتصادية والثقافية والشعبية، مع التركيز على بناء شراكات مستدامة تخدم المصالح المشتركة.

تبادل الجانبان وجهات النظر حول التطورات الإقليمية، وفرص تعزيز التعاون، ودور المنصات متعددة الأطراف في تعزيز الاستقرار والابتكار والنمو الشامل في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا. أكد الحوار أيضًا على أهمية تعزيز العلاقات بين المؤسسات والشركات ومنظمات المجتمع المدني الكندية والتركية.

وأعرب الكونجرس الكندي العربي لعلاقات الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا عن تقديره لسعادة السفير ديزدار على حسن الاستقبال والتزامه المستمر بتعزيز العلاقات الكندية التركية. وأكد الاجتماع مجددًا على دور الكونجرس في أن يكون جسرًا يربط كندا بمنطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا، وذلك من خلال جمع الأطراف المعنية، ودعم الحوار، ودفع المبادرات التي تُسهم في التفاهم والتعاون المتبادلين.

ويتطلع الكونجرس الكندي العربي إلى مواصلة التعاون مع سفارة جمهورية تركيا في كندا، واستكشاف فرص التعاون الملموسة في الفترة المقبلة.
