Canada is proud to co-sponsor the UN Security Council resolution presented by Bahrain, on behalf of the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Jordan, condemning Iran’s attacks on GCC states and Jordan.

We stand together in defence of sovereignty, international law, and the protection of civilians.

Yesterday, Minister Anand spoke directly with her Bahraini counterpart, H.E. Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, to reaffirm Canada’s support for this initiative and to discuss the urgent need for coordinated international efforts to reduce tensions in the region.

Canada continues to support efforts to de-escalate the situation and calls for an immediate end to strikes on civilian infrastructure, in line with international law.
