Meeting with His Excellency Mr. Lassaad Boutara, Ambassador of Tunisia to Canada
On January 9, 2025, Mr. Abdullatif Al-Shaikh, President and Founder of the Canada Arab Congress on Middle East and North Africa Relations (CACMR) and Director of Government Relations on the Board of Directors of the Canada Arab Business Council (CABC), held a productive meeting with His Excellency Mr. Lassaad Boutara, Ambassador of Tunisia to Canada.
The discussion centered on the prospects for strengthening investment ties and developing partnerships with CACMR and CABC, with a focus on high value-added sectors such as technical textiles, information technology and agribusiness. Both sides emphasized the importance of encouraging innovation-driven initiatives and creating platforms for Canadian and Tunisian businesses to collaborate more closely in ways that benefit both economies.
This meeting also reaffirmed the close working relationship between the Canada Arab Congress on Middle East and North Africa Relations (CACMR) and the Embassy of Tunisia under the leadership of His Excellency Ambassador Boutara. His Excellency’s vision and support have been instrumental in advancing dialogue and collaboration, ensuring that our joint efforts contribute not only to stronger trade and investment but also to deeper people-to-people connections and mutual understanding.
The Canada Arab Congress on MENA Relations (CACMR) looks forward to continuing its close partnership with the Tunisian Embassy in Canada. تمحور النقاش حول آفاق تعزيز العلاقات الاستثمارية وتطوير الشراكات مع الكونجرس الكندي العربي لعلاقات الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا ومجلس الأعمال الكندي العربي، مع التركيز على القطاعات ذات القيمة المضافة العالية مثل المنسوجات التقنية وتكنولوجيا المعلومات والأعمال الزراعية. وأكد الجانبان على أهمية تشجيع المبادرات القائمة على الابتكار وخلق منصات للشركات الكندية والتونسية للتعاون بشكل أوثق بما يعود بالنفع على اقتصاد كلا البلدين.
