Chair Abdullatif Al-Shaikh Meets with UAE Ambassador H.E. Abdulrahman Al Neyadi to Strengthen Canada–UAE Relations
Ottawa, Canada – April 7th, 2026
The Canada Arab Congress on Middle East and North Africa Relations (CACMR) is pleased to announce a high-level meeting between its Chair and President, Abdullatif Al-Shaikh, and the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Canada, His Excellency Abdulrahman Al Neyadi.
The meeting, held in Ottawa, underscored the strong and growing relationship between Canada and the United Arab Emirates, while also addressing the ongoing crises and conflicts affecting parts of the Middle East and North Africa region.
During the discussion, Mr. Al-Shaikh and His Excellency Al Neyadi explored opportunities to further enhance bilateral cooperation, with particular focus on trade and investment, innovation, and strategic partnerships across key sectors. Both parties also exchanged views on the current geopolitical landscape, emphasizing the importance of dialogue, stability, and coordinated international efforts to address ongoing conflicts and humanitarian challenges in the region.
Mr. Al-Shaikh reaffirmed CACMR’s commitment to serving as a platform for dialogue and engagement, particularly at a time when constructive diplomacy and collaboration are critical. He highlighted the importance of Canada’s role, alongside regional partners such as the United Arab Emirates, in supporting peace, resilience, and sustainable development across the MENA region.
“It was an honour to meet with His Excellency Ambassador Al Neyadi and to exchange views on how we can continue to build on the strong foundation of Canada–UAE relations, especially in light of the challenges facing the region,” said Mr. Al-Shaikh. “We believe that strengthened cooperation and open dialogue are essential to advancing stability and creating meaningful opportunities for the future.”
His Excellency Al Neyadi expressed appreciation for CACMR’s efforts in strengthening ties between Canada and the Arab world and emphasized the importance of continued engagement and collaboration to address both opportunities and pressing regional challenges.
This meeting reflects CACMR’s ongoing mission to foster constructive dialogue, support peaceful solutions, and promote strategic partnerships between Canada and countries across the Middle East and North Africa.

يسرّ الكونجرس الكندي العربي لعلاقات الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا الإعلان عن اجتماع رفيع المستوى بين رئيسه، السيد عبد اللطيف الشيخ، وسعادة سفير دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة لدى كندا، السيد عبد الرحمن النيادي.
وقد أكد الاجتماع، الذي عُقد في أوتاوا، على متانة العلاقات المتنامية بين كندا ودولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، كما تناول الأزمات والنزاعات الجارية التي تؤثر على أجزاء من منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا.
وخلال المناقشات، بحث السيد الشيخ وسعادة النيادي فرص تعزيز التعاون الثنائي، مع التركيز بشكل خاص على التجارة والاستثمار والابتكار والشراكات الاستراتيجية في القطاعات الرئيسية. كما تبادل الطرفان وجهات النظر حول الوضع الجيوسياسي الراهن، مؤكدين على أهمية الحوار والاستقرار وتنسيق الجهود الدولية لمعالجة النزاعات والتحديات الإنسانية الجارية في المنطقة.
أكد السيد آل الشيخ مجدداً التزام الكونجرس الكندي العربي بدور المنصة للحوار والتفاعل، لا سيما في هذا الوقت الذي تكتسب فيه الدبلوماسية البنّاءة والتعاون أهمية بالغة. وسلط الضوء على أهمية دور كندا، إلى جانب شركاء إقليميين كالإمارات العربية المتحدة، في دعم السلام والصمود والتنمية المستدامة في الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا.
وقال السيد آل الشيخ: "لقد كان من دواعي سروري لقاء سعادة السفير آل نيادي وتبادل وجهات النظر حول كيفية مواصلة البناء على الأسس المتينة للعلاقات الكندية الإماراتية، خاصة في ضوء التحديات التي تواجه المنطقة. ونؤمن بأن تعزيز التعاون والحوار المفتوح أمران أساسيان لتحقيق الاستقرار وخلق فرص قيّمة للمستقبل".
وأعرب سعادة السفير آل نيادي عن تقديره لجهود الكونجرس الكندي العربي في تعزيز العلاقات بين كندا والعالم العربي، وشدد على أهمية استمرار التفاعل والتعاون لمعالجة الفرص والتحديات الإقليمية الملحة.
ويعكس هذا الاجتماع رسالة الكونجرس الكندي العربي المستمرة في تعزيز الحوار البنّاء، ودعم الحلول السلمية، وتشجيع الشراكات الاستراتيجية بين كندا ودول الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا.
